A-list K-pop stars gave American supermodel Gigi Hadid a warm welcome when she visited Seoul on Nov 4 for the opening of her knitwear brand Guest In Residence’s pop-up store. K-pop girl group 2NE1’s leader CL posted an Instagram Story of herself with Hadid, 29.
They were at a dinner the model hosted that day for music stars and fashion industry heavyweights to celebrate the pop-up. In the clip, CL, 33, told Hadid: “Welcome to Seoul.” Hadid, who can be seen holding a glass of champagne, asked CL how to say “cheers” in Korean, before the pair toasted the camera and said “jjan” together.
In another clip, CL shared a glimpse of the dinner guests. She was seen hanging out with the members of NewJeans – Hanni, Danielle and Minji – as well as Squid Game (2021 to present) star Jung Ho-yeon and South Korean rapper Jay Park. She also posted a video of Park, 37, and Jung, 30, learning how to play the mandu game, a popular Korean drinking game.
As part of 2NE1, CL will soon kick off the overseas leg of the quartet’s Welcome Back tour. It commemorates the group’s 15th anniversary and marks their first headlining concert tour in a decade. It seemed that the star-studded dinner was held in a traditional Korean house.
