Tuesday, July 16, 2024 Canada’s Korean Cultural Centre has recently teamed up with the 28th Fantasia International Film Festival, hosted from July 18 to August 4 th , in Montreal, to showcase Korean films and Korean cultural experience programs. Fantasia currently in its 28th year, is North America’s biggest film festival. It launches fresh and excellent works and draws almost 100,000 audiences every year.

The festival is all set to display several genres, comprising films of olden times, films using leading-edge technology, animations, short films, and new age directors and their works. In partnership with Fantasia, KCC will carry on different cultural experience programs, like the ‘Hanbok Experience’ and ‘Makgeolli Workshop’. The festival in 2024 will throw light on the omnibus film project – The Killers, made by six directors.

Also, it will showcase seven feature films, like PARK Jin-pyo directed Brave Citizen and 20 short films like 98% and Night Fishing. On July 24 th and 25 th , KCC will organize a Makgeolli workshop in connection with the screening of FAQ, which at the 28th Busan International Film Festival, grabbed Aurora Media Award. The workshop will discover an alcoholic beverage with the name Makgeolli which is made from fermented rice, and allow participants to make their own Makgeolli.
