Telangana minister Konda Surekha 's comment has led to a controversy about Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's divorce. The politician recently make a remark about their separation that didn't go down well with the former couple, industry and their fans. Earlier this month, she alleged that Bharat Raksha Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) was behind the actor couple’s divorce.

The remark quoted by reports said, "KTR was the reason behind the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha..
." The tweet also added that the BRS is targeting and harassing other female leaders in Telangana and alleged that KTR is the reason for many female actors quitting Telugu film industry early and marrying. The comment led to backlash from actors and politicians alike, celebrities like Jr NTR, Nani, Khushbu Sundar, and others have condemned Surekha’s comment.
