1 2 Prayagraj: Members of Kinnar Akhara have demanded a strong action against Samajwadi Party MP Afzal Ansari for his recent statement calling ‘ganja' a herb and ‘prasad' in Maha Kumbh . Calling the statements obejctionable, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Dr Laxmi Narayan Tripathi Maharaj of Kinnar Akhara said that the remark is an insult to Sanatan Dharma . Tripathi was in Sangam city on Monday to attend events.
Tripathi said that not only Afzal, but any leader who makes such statements against Sanatan Dharma, should be punished. Earlier, Tripathi met with Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand at the Mela office regar ding the organising of Maha Kumbh. Tripathi has demanded that Kinnar Akhara be given land and facilities in Maha Kumbh on the lines of the 2019 Kumbh.
She said that Kinnar Akhara is with Juna Akhara. Under the guidance of Juna Akhara's patron and All India Akhara Parishad's general secretary Mahant Hari Giri Maharaj, Kinnar Akhara's Devta Yatra will be taken out in Maha Kumbh. Along with this, Kinnar saints will also take ‘amrit snan' on various bathing festivals.
The demand for changing the name of ‘peshwai' and ‘shahi snan' from the akharas before Maha Kumbh has also been supported by the Kinnar akhara chief. Tripathi also said that now the time has come that Sanatanis should be recognised by their identity and put the truth in front of society..
