In an effort to fight menace of kidney disease and other related health diseases in the area,Yobe state government has deployed group of international science researchers from United States of America, United Kingdom,Germany, Spain,South Africa, Algeria, Senegal and Ghana to Bade Emirate for a research mission on kidney disease in the area. Speaking at the palace of the Emir of Bade, Alh.Umar Abubakar Sulaiman, on their mission to the emirate,Yobe state Commissioner of health and human services, Dr.

Mohammed Lawan Gana, said Governor Mai Mala Buni led a team to United kingdom where they visited research institutes. Some of the institutes includes; Crick Research Institute,York University,London School of hygiene, University Collage London and University of Sussex introduced to the state by the Special Adviser to the Governor Buni on Science, Research and Innovation,Dr. Mahmud Bukar Maina for partnership in research and training especially on kidney disease affecting some of parts of the state.

“We are at the second phase of the research now, the preliminary and advance stages would also take place with this current research. “This visit is to brief His Royal Highness the Emir of Bade on plans put in place to address rampart cases of kidney disease in the area,” he said In his remarks, Dr. Mahmud Bukar Maina, Special Adviser to Governor on Science, Research and Innovation , said research is ongoing to unravel the cause of high numbers of kidney disease in the area.
