Kevin Dundon and his wife Catherine won't put any pressure on their three kids to follow in his footsteps into hospitality. But the celebrity chef and hotelier noted that Emily, Sophie and Tom all have a keen interest in cooking and food. He joked that dinner time at their house can be very interesting.

Sophie is doing political science and business relations and she cooks all organic food herself. "Tom has just gone into fifth year in Kilkenny college and he worked in the cookery school and the hotel during the summer. He said it didn’t feel like a day's work, he just loved it.

"I wouldn’t push our industry on the kids. If they want to get into it, brilliant. "If not, that is totally their decision.

They have seen how hard Catherine and I have worked over the years." Kevin spends most of the week in the kitchen while at work, but he has no problem to cook again for his family when he gets home. In fact, it is where he feels most comfortable.
