Sunday, September 8, 2024 Kenya is poised to capitalize on the upcoming Germany Annual Citizen Festival to strengthen cultural connections and promote tourism, trade, and investment opportunities. Marking a historic moment, Kenya will become the first non-European nation to participate in the prestigious “Bürgerfest” festival, taking place on September 13th and 14th in Berlin, Germany. Dr.

Korir Sing’oei, Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary, hailed the event as a significant milestone in the six-decade-long partnership between Kenya and Germany. Germany is a key investor in Kenya, with over 100 companies operating in the country, contributing investments valued at Ksh.150 billion.

The PS emphasized the festival’s role in boosting German tourist arrivals, a crucial market for Kenya. Last year, Kenya saw a 23.2% increase in German visitors, with arrivals rising from 66,064 to 81,359.

Additionally, the two nations will sign a Labour Agreement during the event, facilitating the migration of skilled and technical labor from Kenya’s TVET graduates to work in Germany..
