BAMBERG — Keep Bamberg County Beautiful and Bamberg County Public Information Officer Alisha Moore coordinated a community cleanup on Saturday, July 27. They focused on the Salty Road and Lazy Lane area, which has been in need of road improvements as well. County Councilman Spencer Donaldson, who has been advocating to repair and improve these roads for quite some time, finally secured funding approval from the Bamberg County C-Fund Committee.

The road work began last week, and while there will be minor disruptions, both Salty Road and Lazy Lane will remain open for the duration of this project. Community volunteers and local officials joined forces with KBCB, collecting 31 bags of trash and a tire in just two and a half hours. The volunteers included: „ ■ County Councilman Spencer Donaldson, District 4 „ ■ County Councilman Larry Haynes, District 3 „ ■ Denmark Councilwoman Chandra Williams „ ■ County Public Information Officer Alisha Moore „ ■ KBCB Board Members Jerry Bell, Nina Haynes, Rosella Cooper, and Catherine Russell „■ Denmark-Olar Cheerleading Team „ ■ Bamberg County Community Members When asked why this particular project is so important to him, Donaldson said, "It's quite simple; all Bamberg County citizens deserve to live in a safe and clean environment.

We are grateful to all community leaders and citizens, including the C-Fund Committee, who are helping us make Salty Road and Lazy Lane a source of pride rather than an eyesore. I know this.
