Katy Perry and her husband Orlando Bloom are battling a disabled 85-year-old veteran over a piece of real estate. Andrew Thomas, attorney for 1-800-Flowers founder Carl Westcott, said the famous couple is fighting Westcott over the details of the sale of his mansion, according to the New York Post . Westcott, who suffers from Huntington’s disease, agreed to sell his home to Perry during the pandemic.
He then tried to back out of the deal, alleging that he had just come out of surgery and wasn’t mentally sound enough to proceed with such business dealings. A judge ruled in Perry’s favor, according to the New York Post. Perry has since sued for more money over alleged damages to the home, In Touch Weekly reported , citing court documents.
Westcott’s lawyers pushed back, reportedly accusing Perry of trying to recoup some of the money she put down on the home, and the two filed litigation against one another. Wescott’s family is bringing Bloom into the situation, alleging that he has been overseeing work in the home, according to The New York Post.
