has welcomed a new addition to her family as she "ups her security". The model and businesswoman, 46, has brought another member into her already large family, in an effort to keep herself safe. Mum-of-five Katie announced that she is to be hiring a new guard dog as a form of protection at her new home.

Price admitted that the reasoning for getting the new pup came after she was subject to an acid attack at her Mucky Mansion in Sussex. Criminals were able to get access to the house and her car was pelted with acid, causing damage to the vehicle and making it unstable. This comes, however, after Katie sold the Mucky Mansion following her declaration of bankruptcy.

As a result, Katie has now moved to a place "no one knows", but is still keen to ensure her safety and has thus decided to take on the four-legged friend. Speaking last week, she revealed that the dog is due to arrive on Monday (July 15), and will help her feel more safe in her own home, as well as keep her family secure. Recounting the acid attack that damaged her car, she explained: "I called the police and I said, 'I know you’re saying there’s nothing you can do, but if I’d walked out in the middle of the night and I saw them putting acid on [the car], who’s to say they wouldn’t have thrown it at me?'" She described the attack on her Mucky Mansion as a "threat" to her life and livelihood, in an interview with the Daily Mail.

While she is investing in the new pooch, this may prove to be a bone of contenti.
