LUXURY perfume brand Jo Malone London has opened a new store in Cheshire. The shop on Water Lane, Wilmslow, marks the company’s first standalone store in the Greater Manchester area, outside concession spaces in retailers such as Selfridges, John Lewis and Manchester Airport. The brand was founded in 1990 by Jo Malone, with the first store opening in 1994 in London.

The lifestyle name has become synonymous for its signature colognes, bath oils and home accessories and is an icon of British luxury. According to various sources, Kate Middleton's all-time favourite fragrance is Jo Malone London Orange Blossom Cologne. She's such a big fan of the subtle citrus aroma, she chose it to be the scent at her wedding back in 2011.

Jo Malone sold the firm to Estee Lauder in 1999. Since then, the name has grown into a globally recognised brand with stores around the world offering the full range of luxury products. The new store is part of Orbit Developments’ commercial portfolio.

Wilmslow, known for its affluent clientele is the ideal location, making this opening a welcome addition for locals and visitors. Mark Hanna, leasing surveyor of Orbit Developments, said: “We’re delighted Jo Malone London has chosen Wilmslow for their new store. “It’s fantastic to see another luxury brand coming to the area and we expect it will prove hugely popular with shoppers, especially with the opening just before the festive period.
