The TV presenter was sitting back in her chair alongside Ed Balls for today’s episode of the ITV daytime show following her decision to take time off to be with her family. She dropped out of the show last month after her dad was rushed to hospital following a suspected stroke and heart attack , and was instead replaced by Ranvir Singh , 39.

In her first episode on air again, she referenced being ‘all over the place’ following the incidents in her personal life, but chose to remain upbeat while discussing the circumstances. ‘Shall we have a look at the weather? I’ve been all over the place recently with things with my dad and a little bit of summer fun with my son as well,’ she told meteorologist Laura Tobin. The 57-year-old continued: ‘But apparently it’s been gorgeous here Laura.

I’ve missed the good stuff.’ Laura responded to inform Kate she was also away from her post on the show while the UK experienced the summer weather. ‘I was on leave for one week, and it was hot, dry and sunny,’ she joked leading to laughter from Kate.

Kate previously took to social media to explain her absence from the TV show and social media. ‘Hi all – sorry I disappeared from here when my Dad collapsed & rushed to hospital 2 weeks ago whil.
