Derek sadly died of complications from Covid on 3 January at the age of 56. Posting a video of the roses in her garden on Saturday, Kate shared a message to all those students, like her daughter Darcey , who received their A Level exam results earlier this week and revealed that her daughter visited her dad’s grave on results day as it was his birthday.

She didn’t get what she might have done but hey did better than any of us feared under the circumstances.

I couldn’t be prouder of her & know her Dad would be too. We went to Dad’s grave to “tell” him before she went out to celebrate with friends.” Kate added: “I’m at home & just noticed the roses I planted.
