Bengaluru: Jailed Kannada superstar Darshan has reportedly claimed that he is being haunted by the spirit of his murdered fan, Renukaswamy, while in prison. Sources from Ballary prison have claimed that Darshan has expressed his fears to prison officials. During his , Darshan planned to request, through his lawyer, a transfer back to Bengaluru prison if his custody is extended.

According to reports, he is believed to have confided in authorities that Renukaswamy appears in his dreams, making it hard for him to cope with his solitary confinement. Sources claimed that staff have heard Darshan shouting and screaming in his sleep during the night. In response to these developments, Darshan's wife, Vijayalaxmi, has organised special prayers at a temple for him.

The actor was initially held in Bengaluru Central Prison but was moved to Ballary after photos of his luxurious treatment while incarcerated emerged, leading to his isolation in a small cell without contact with others. Ballary prison authorities have kept Darshan in strict conditions, rejecting many of his requests for additional facilities. They have allowed some privileges only under court recommendations.

Recently, Darshan's son visited him alongside his mother. The 57th City Civil and Sessions Court (CCH) will hear his bail petition on Friday. Senior lawyer Sunil will argue on Darshan's behalf.

Reports also indicate that Darshan is suffering from severe back pain. An orthopaedic surgeon visited him and recommended furt.
