Kanika Dhillon is currently making headlines for her devious writing in the latest Netflix movie Do Patti. Featuring Kajol, Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh in lead roles, writer Kanika recently talked to Zoom about her journey so far. Excerpts from the interview How do you view your journey so far? I feel very grateful that I have been able to tell stories close to my heart! Transitioning from writer to producer with Kathha Pictures has been very fulfilling and also challenging.

I really look forward to being able to write support and tell engaging, important and entertaining stories with Kathha Pictures. You seem to be the first female writer in Hindi cinema to have an independent voice. Thank you for this honour.

However, I do feel that there are some prominent female screenwriters in Hindi cinema who have paved the way for me to have my voice in Hindi cinema heard. As women, if we don’t have stories, it’s like we were never here. We never existed.
