Srividya, the dream girl of the Malayalam film industry faded away too soon without seeing justice. Her family life was miserable and she had to move Supreme Court for a divorce settlement. Film director Alleppey Ashraf has more anecdotes of Srividya’s cloistered personal life.

Ashraf: "Srividya first fell for Kamal Haasan. The relationship was talked about in Tamil Nadu during the time. They even pondered marriage but then Srividya’s mother jumped in with a demand that the marriage be conducted only after a few more years.

A young Kamal was dejected and he walked out of the relationship. He then married Vani Ganapathy, breaking Srividya's heart. At this time, Srividya received a proposal from George, who claimed to be the producer and owner of the film company ‘Star of Cochin’.

Her relatives and mostly her mother stood against the proposal. But Srividya went ahead with her decision and married George. It was while the couple were in Mumbai that she got to know about George's association with ‘Stars of Cochin’.

In reality, George was just the son of an employee at ‘Star of Cochin’. The actress went through gruelling financial straits and to make ends meet, she decided to get back to movies. It was rumoured that George embezzled most of Srividya’s hard-earned money by forging a fake signature.

It turned normal for Srividya to earn money only for George to indulge in extravaganza. Soon, the actress found out about George’s liaisons with other women. Question.
