The Minnesota Vikings kicked off their 2024 training camp on Tuesday. Things are off to a strong start, with players and coaches taking the time today to speak with the media and answer questions, as they enter a crucial season. Heading into this season, one of the biggest questions is whether newly signed veteran Sam Darnold or first-round draft pick JJ McCarthy, who led Michigan to a national championship in his final college season, will start at quarterback.

Minnesota Vikings superstar WR Justin Jefferson was catching bombs from Sam Darnold today Head coach Kevin O’Connell has expressed his desire for a competitive atmosphere between the two quarterbacks during this camp. Despite this, Sam Darnold is expected to receive the majority of the reps with the first-team offense. From there, it’ll be up to Sam to keep the job through camp.

Today, Justin Jefferson caught a 50+ yard TD from Darnold and celebrated like he had just been thrown a game-winning TD. Jets chatted with the media after practice and couldn’t help but smile as he talked about how impressed he was by some of Sam Darnold’s throws, or “bombs”, as he called them. Sam Darnold just drilled Justin Jefferson on deep PA over the top.

50+ in the air. Beautiful ball. Justin caught it and skipped around.
