Wednesday, August 28, 2024 Juneyao Airlines is set to make a significant leap in its international operations with the introduction of two new direct intercontinental routes connecting Shanghai with Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. These new routes, scheduled to commence in mid-December 2024, mark the airline’s first regular passenger services to the Southern Hemisphere, underscoring Juneyao Airlines’ robust international expansion efforts this year. The Shanghai-Melbourne route will officially begin on December 19, 2024, with flights operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Shortly before that, the Shanghai-Sydney route will launch on December 16, 2024, with four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This expansion into the South Pacific market is a strategic move for Juneyao Airlines, as the complementary schedules of these routes provide daily connectivity between Shanghai and Australia. Juneyao Airlines has been on an aggressive growth trajectory throughout 2024, significantly broadening its international footprint.

Earlier this year, the airline introduced new routes from Shanghai to Bali, Penang, and Athens, while also ramping up flight frequencies to major Asian destinations, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Jeju, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Singapore. In July, the airline further extended its reach in Europe with the launch of new routes to Manchester and Brussels. Founded in 2006 as a subsidiary of the Juneyao Group, .
