JoJo is getting candid about a less-than-pleasant memory. In her new memoir, Over the Influence , the former teen star—whose full name is Joanna Levesque — reportedly described a “cold” encounter at MTV’s Total Request Live with a famous singer she was a fan of—though she did not name the singer in the book. However, JoJo wrote that both she and the anonymous singer appeared on the same movie soundtrack, leaving many to conclude that the mystery artist could be Christina Aguilera —who appeared alongside JoJo on the tracklist for 2004’s Shark Tale soundtrack album.

When asked in a recent interview if she wanted to “say anything” about working with Christina to address the speculation, JoJo did not confirm the identity of the alleged ice queen in her book, but she did describe what she took away from the incident. “What feeling the way that this person made me feel taught me is that I just never wanna make anybody feel that way,” she said in an interview with SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio published Sept. 13.

“It made me feel like, ‘Oh, you don’t want to meet your idols.’” But it’s not too little, too late for the “Leave (Get Out)” singer, who added, “There’s no hate in my heart toward this person—nor is this a surprise, I suppose, with other stories that we’ve heard.” E!
