Pune: A 30-year-old man from Daund was arrested on the charge of bludgeoning his father to death with a cement block on Monday night. The Pune rural police made the arrest on Tuesday The incident occurred on Monday night after the deceased, Sunil Randive (60), threw his son Sachin out of their house. The man returned later in the night and attacked his father, Daund police said.

Randive's wife lodged a complaint. An officer from the Daund police said that according to the complainant, her son was jobless. On Oct 4, Sachin's wife left home with their two daughters after they had arguments.

The next day, the suspect went to Solapur to bring her back. "However, he returned alone on Oct 6, since his wife was upset and refused to accompany him," the officer said. The complainant told the police that she and her husband were trying to pacify Sachin, but he started to argue with them.

Resultantly, Randive threw him out on Monday. "Late in the night, Sachin returned and found his father sleeping in front of the house. He picked up a cement block and bludgeoned him to death," the officer added.

The complainant took her husband to a hospital in Daund. He was shifted to a hospital in Pune, where he succumbed to the injuries on Tuesday. "We have registered a case under section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

We have added section 103 (murder) in the case," the officer said..
