Joan Jane (Joni) Barth of Ocala, Florida passed away peacefully under Hospice care on June 15, 2024 from Alzheimer’s disease at Windsor of Ocala Memory Care. Joni was born in Findlay, OH, to Roy F. and Elva Hinton on October 8, 1936.
She attended Cosmetology school in Columbus, Ohio where she met DuWayne (Bud) Barth who was stationed at the Columbus Air Force Base. They were married in 1957 and spent their early married years in Columbus and in Montgomery, Alabama. After Bud’s retirement from the USAF they made their home on a farm north of Barnesville, MN.
They raised their 3 children on the farm and after retiring moved to Orlando, Fl. They later spent years traveling the country in their 5th wheel RV visiting friends, relatives, golfing and seeing the beauty of the country. In 2005 they settled in Ocala, Fl.
Joni is survived by her son Bradley (Diane) Barth, daughter Jody Barth, grandchildren Tara, (Chris) Creighton, Tyler Barth, Trevor Barth and great-grand-daughter Lily Creighton. She is preceded in death by her husband DuWayne (Bud) Barth, son Brent Barth, parents Roy F. and Elva Hinton, and brothers William Hinton and R.
Leon Hinton. There will be a family service at the Barnesville Cemetery at a later date..
