Jimmy Fallon jokingly suggested President Joe Biden might’ve been dealing with the Sunday blues when he dropped out of the presidential race. “Typically, on Sundays, everyone thinks about quitting their job,” he said on “The Tonight Show” Monday. “But Biden is the first person to actually go through with it.
‘I quit.’” He added, “You know, be nice if we could have one weekend in July where our entire political world isn’t thrown into chaos.” Biden announced on Sunday afternoon that he was ending his 2024 campaign, clearing the way for a younger nominee to face Donald Trump in the November election.
On a more serious note, Fallon touted the president’s record: “Biden is now getting credit for guiding us through the pandemic, creating millions of jobs, rebuilding our nation’s crumbling infrastructure and eliminating billions in student loans.” The comedian quipped, “ Democrats heard that and were like, ‘Hey, this guy should run for president.’” Watch below.
