This Los Angeles Chargers team had a lot of hype entering the season with Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert at the helm, and rightfully so. The team started 2-0 and was playing a brand of football that Chargers fans had not been used to, smashmouth and finishing games. After dropping a game to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, the hype is not gone, but in ultimate Chargers fashion, they have been struck with the injury bug.

Quarterback Justin Herbert is obviously the biggest name to keep an eye on as he left last week’s game in the second half, but both starting tackles, Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater, were also banged up during the contest. Star EDGE rusher Joey Bosa also left the game and did not return. Jim Harbaugh gave injury updates before Wednesday’s practice.

Jim Harbaugh Gives Latest Injury Updates On Justin Herbert, Joe Alt, And More Herbert is out of the walking boot, Harbaugh said. https://t.co/SaV33lGWwv It is very unlikely that Herbert plays this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs, especially with the bye week following right after, however, as tough as Herbert is, it also would not be shocking if he tries to gut it out.

This sentiment was evident during Herbert’s media session after practice. #Chargers QB Justin Herbert told reporters there has been talk about resting him until the bye, but he "doesn’t think that’s the way we’re heading." Herbert said he feels "less pain" and was able to do some 7-on-7 work today.

A sign his setback didn't set him ba.
