champion Jay Fisher has admitted after his crushing defeat on the show. Jay on the show when he climbed the ranks to on Tuesday (July 16) but sadly his time at the top came to an abrupt end after just two more victories. Jay found himself beaten by newcomer Neilesh Vinjamuri on Friday and now has opened up about his failure to continue.

Taking to Reddit he wrote: “I’m not looking forward to watching this game! The week before was stressful at work so I was working on little sleep and by this taping I was tired. I knew DD3 but didn’t take a second to figure out they wanted the harbor not the fort. Congrats to Neilesh, he crushed double jeopardy.

May he have a long run.” Jay went up against software engineer Neilesh and logistics director Dave Gutierrez for the third Daily Double of the episode. Round one saw Dave in the lead with $3,400, as Jay tailed close behind with $2,600 and Neilesh struggled with $-800 after an incorrect Daily Double.

However, as Double Jeopardy came into play Neilesh got going and correctly answered the second Daily Double. Jay then got the third incorrect giving Neilesh a healthy streak and high score, going into Final Jeopardy, Neilesh had $13,000, Jay $5,000 and Dave $5,400. While Jay was the only one who got Final Jeopardy correct - guessing that Sacagawea was the woman with the most statues devoted to her in the category 19th Century Women - it was too little too late for him with Neilesh stealing the victory regardless.
