Several Central Virginia programs had explosive offensive performances this past weekend, and improved their potential postseason odds and seeding. Here is what we learned during Week 9 of the Central Virginia high school football season. Jefferson District teams get wins in convincing fashion Albemarle defeated rival Charlottesville, 48-20, on Friday.

Benny Morgan opened the scoring on a rushing touchdown to put the Patriots up, 7-0, then Abiel Ruffin hauled in a 50-yard passing touchdown from Xzavion Carter. Soon after, Carter connected with Isaiah Harris for a 68-yard score that extended Albemarle's lead to 21-0. Later on, Cameron Williford and J Kai Ragland each ran into the end zone and made it a 35-point game before halftime.

Charlottesville (0-8, 0-5 Jefferson District) answered in the second half with an explosive 42-yard catch-and-run touchdown by Nasir Anderson. Maurionte Jackson followed that up with a four-yard rushing score that cut the Patriots' advantage to 35-14. Albemarle (2-6, 2-3) responded with a pair of touchdowns from Azareon Claxton, with one being scored on offense and the other on defense.

Orange County earned a 47-13 victory over Goochland on Friday. Bubba Wells got the Fighting Hornets (6-2, 4-1) on the board with a touchdown, and the ensuing two point conversion made it 8-0. After Goochland (1-7, 1-5) scored, Orange answered with a Jeremiah Wharton touchdown.

Wells ultimately eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on the season, and the Fighting Hornets won .
