Pune: Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange , reacting to the collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue in Sindhudurg on Monday, blamed corrupt govt contractors. Jarange threatened to launch an agitation if those responsible for the collapse are not arrested. The Maratha quota activist said, “The collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue is unfortunate for the state.

It is the fault of contractors who indulge in corruption in every work they carry out. They did not spare a national icon.” The statue was installed at Rajkot Fort in Malvan tehsil of Sindhudurg district on Navy Day on December 4, 2023.

Jarange claimed that govt will try to shield the real culprits. He said, “Going by the track record, we do not have much hope from govt. We are not expecting any strict action against those who are responsible for the collapse of the statue.

The home minister is busy shielding the real culprits. If govt does not put the culprits behind bars, we will carry out an agitation to force it to take action.” We also published the following articles recently Jarange blames corrupt contractors, threatens agitation over Shivaji statue collapse Manoj Jarange, a Maratha reservation activist, blames corrupt government contractors for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue collapse in Sindhudurg.
