Wednesday, October 2, 2024 Jamaica’s Tourism Enhancement Fund partnered with Carnival Corporation & plc to host a successful Sourcing Readiness Forum on September 23-24, 2024, at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston. This important event showcased Carnival’s commitment to deepening its long-standing relationship with Jamaica while promoting the growth of the country’s tourism industry. The forum attracted a diverse array of carefully chosen local suppliers, ranging from small enterprises and farmers to larger consolidators and distributors.
These businesses were identified by the Tourism Linkages Network of the Tourism Enhancement Fund and presented products that align with Carnival Corporation’s needs. Participants showcased a variety of offerings, including frozen foods and fresh agricultural produce. Authentic Jamaican culinary delights, such as sauces, seasonings, rums, chocolates, teas, and coffees, were prominently featured.
In addition, attendees presented artisanal goods like woodcrafts, handmade jewelry, and candles, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Jamaica. This initiative not only supports Carnival Corporation’s operational needs but also fosters local economic growth, reinforcing the vital link between tourism and national sectors. Through such forums, Carnival Corporation aims to build stronger connections and partnerships that benefit both the cruise line and the vibrant Jamaican community.
