Auto Motor Sport reports that Jaguar dealerships will temporarily become used car outlets. The German magazine refers to an interview with brand managing director Rawdon Glover, who explains, among other things, that Jaguar needs to make space in its model range and factories before its switch to becoming an electric brand in 2025. For this reason, “production and sales of the current models will gradually be discontinued.

” Sales of the current range will end everywhere in twelve months at the latest. In the UK, however, this will apply from the beginning of 2025 and in some other European markets from the end of 2024. According to the Jaguar boss, dealers should concentrate on “the used car business and customer service” during this time.

The background to this is that the British car manufacturer will only build one of its current models in future. Production of a total of five models will be discontinued at the end of the year. The manufacturer is thus preparing for the aforementioned switch to electric drives in 2025.

Of course, economic interests also play a role: CEO Adrian Mardell that the five models being cancelled from the production schedule are not profitable. Only the F-Pace mid-size SUV will continue to roll off the production line. The latter is available with a combustion engine and as a hybrid variant.
