Published 5:00 am Saturday, September 21, 2024 By obitsamericanpress It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jacqueline (Jackie) Lavergne Phillips of Jeffersonville, Ga., who peacefully departed from this world on Sept. 12, 2024, in Orlando, Fla.

Born on Dec. 26, 1951, in Lake Charles, La., Jackie was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a dear friend to many.

During her life, Jackie enriched the lives of those around her through her work in childcare and her unwavering commitment to her family. She dedicated her time to nurturing the minds of the young children she cared for at Robins AFB Child Development Center, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Beyond her professional life, Jackie found joy in simple pleasures such as singing, gardening, cooking, and sewing.

Her love for Gospel music brought her solace, with artists like Mahalia Jackson and The Mighty Clouds of Joy lifting her spirit. She was also an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robins, GA, contributing her beautiful voice to the church choir for over three decades. Jackie will be remembered by her three sons, Leroy Phillips Jr.
