Radio star Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has been given the go-ahead to nearly double the value of her oceanfront Sydney property by building a modern four-bedroom home on the site. Randwick City Council has authorised the KIIS FM host’s blueprint for her grand $5.058 million ocean front pad in affluent Clovelly, 8km south-east of the Sydney’s CBD, on Tuesday.

Award-winning architect Madeleine Blanchfield will design the 49-year-old’s three-storey, flat roof home. Four of Blanchfield’s completed works were recently short-listed at the Australian Interior Design Awards in June, and the designer is now set to further tip the industry scale with Henderson’s luxurious project. Blanchfield has been busy designing the media personality’s home featuring a courtyard, pool, rainwater tank and double garaging, according to realestate.

com.au. Henderson took to Instagram stories earlier this year with a picture of her last planning meeting with Blanchfield.

“Final design meeting,” the presenter captioned the happy snap in which house plans were strewn across the table. Henderson in May told co-host Kyle her pad will be a slice of “Italy on the Amalfi Coast”. She has sought leading Australian residential and commercial creative landscaper Dangar Barin Smith to bring her European coastline inspired retreat to life.

Smith will reportedly plant a variety of Mediterranean species in Henderson’s yard, including long-leaved wattle, old man banksia, devil’s ivy, prostrate rose.
