ITV star James Martin was seemingly outed by Matthew Wright after he claimed that the celebrity chef once dated This Morning guest presenter Alice Beer, when the pair first started in television. The Saturday Morning presenter, 52, reportedly enjoyed a “secret” romance with Alice, 59, back in the 1990s before she met her husband and settled down. Matthew, 59, claimed that he got the inside gossip from a “spy” at the time.
He wrote in his column for the Mirror: “My spies tell me that the celebrity cook has been dating lovely Alice for several months." Before adding that around the same time: “Alice said that she had found a man but refused to reveal his name”. And he quoted an insider as saying: “Alice and James seem to be really happy.
They wanted to keep the relationship hush-hush so the pressure of fame wouldn’t affect their relationship.” The pair have never publicly confirmed their 'romance'. The Express has contacted both James and Alice for comment.
Fast-forward to now, the pair have shared the screen on This Morning on several occasions and appear to get on well given that they both moved on with new partners. In the late 1990s, Alice met her husband Paul Pascoe and they welcomed twin daughters. James recently found love again with stunning personal trainer Kim Johnson following his split from long-term partner Louise Davies.
