McDonald and Dodds is set to return for a fourth series, bringing more of its much-loved ITV drama magic to the screen. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Bath and its surrounding areas, the show will delight fans with three new feature-length episodes. The upcoming season will see the dynamic duo, Jason Watkins as DCI Lauren McDonald and Tala Gouveia as DS Dodds, back in action.
Despite their contrasting styles, they form an effective partnership that has captured the hearts of viewers. Filming took place at The Bottle Yard Studios and various locations across Bristol and Bath, supported by the film offices of both cities last year. Tala Gouveia shared her enthusiasm for the filming sites and said: "We've had some beautiful locations.
I think my favourite was Colston Hall. Our base was at the Bath Cheese Shop so I got to eat a lot of cheese. That was a highlight.
And we were in this big, beautiful house and grounds." She added: "We also had quite a few weddings this series so we filmed in some beautiful churches, a barn, the botanical gardens. We are always blessed with beautiful locations on this show.
" Mammoth Screen, the production company behind the series, once again established its base at Bristol's Bottle Yard Studios, where it constructed sets including the police station precinct, reports OK! .
