The two recognised each other from a dating app and things quickly escalated. After their roadside encounter, Aaron tried to get to know John better, but he remained aloof. However, while Aaron was away, John took the opportunity to rob him, driving off and leaving Aaron stranded in the countryside without his keys or wallet.

Later, John arrived in the village to have his van repaired. When Aaron realised who he was, he was furious and confronted him, leading to a fight and a stern warning from John to Aaron.
