However, the plot took a shocking twist last week when Tom attacked Belle at her home. Belle, armed with a firearm, fled as Tom pursued her around the village, eventually cornering her in a deserted flat. As he hacked through the door ready to shoot Belle, she retaliated by stabbing him in the back with an axe before escaping.

After sharing her ordeal with Lydia (Karen Blick), Sam (James Hooton) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), the family devised a plan to conceal the body. However, Tom was ultimately discovered and rushed to hospital, reports Leeds Live . He was diagnosed with a collapsed lung and internal bleeding, and was taken for a scan.

It was later disclosed that Tom had survived - a revelation that left Belle distraught, knowing that if Tom regains consciousness, he will seek revenge.
