A Coronation Street star has quit the ITV soap after three years in the role. Bill Fellows - who plays Stu Carpenter - on the ITV show has reportedly decided to quit the programme, and his final scenes have already been filmed. Stu arrived in Weatherfield after meeting Kelly Neelan and vowing to keep an eye on her.

Despite Kelly's exit, he later stayed after growing close to Yasmeen. It is not yet known how Bill's character Stu will leave the soap but could it be to do with Mason Radcliffe, who recently made his return to the Cobbles. Stu has been supportive of Mason, after his family turned their back on him.

In one big storyline, it was confirmed that Stu wasn't responsible for the death of Charlie and that it was actually his daughter Bridget that was responsible for the death. Since then, he has been in a relationship with Yasmeen and his granddaughter Eliza moved into number six with them, before eventually leaving to be with her dad. During a chat with The Mirror , Bill discussed the storyline surrounding Charlie's death.

He said: "There are load of twists and turns. Obviously people are guessing what's gonna go on, but there is so many permutations. No one wins and there are loads of people who get affected by this, and none of it has a happy ending in the end.
