Coronation Street fans are convinced they've figured out Rowan Cunliffe's next sick plan. Soap watchers will recall that mysterious newcomer Rowan has targeted Leanne with his "self-improvement group" The Institute . Rowan has also been pulling Leanne away from partner Nick Tilsley and even her sister Toyah Battersby.

After learning of Toyah and Nick's affair, Rowan has been blackmailing the duo while he has also targeted Amy Barlow on the cobbles as a new recruit for The Institute . Soap watchers know he's just after money and it's all a scam. He's been targeting vulnerable people to invest including Leanne, and Amy is just his latest target.

On Wednesday night, after begging grandfather Ken Barlow to release her £40,000 inheritance from grandmother Deirdre Barlow so she could invest in The Institute, Amy soon had a change of heart. Amy had attended a malware session, where a blindfolded Amy was horrified as the members bombard her with insults. After becoming distressed and running out, Amy tried to stop Ken from releasing the funds to The Institute but it was too late.

After seeking Leanne for help, Leanne promised she'd try get her money back from Rowan but the villain insisted it would be difficult to get the cash back as it was already invested. Meanwhile, Amy's concerned parents Tracy Barlow and Steve McDonald went straight to the police but were left crushed as it couldn't be reported due to Amy consenting to the money being handed over. This prompted protective moth.
