An Egerton woman has been honoured for the success of her holistic business just a year after she opened it. Sound therapist Susan Cain won the title of Holistic Therapist of the Year award at the Bolton Health and Wellbeing Awards on Saturday, October 5 at Rivington Barn. Organized by Anita McKay, the annual event celebrates local businesses dedicated to health and well-being within the community, drawing more than 200 attendees.

Susan's journey into holistic therapies began 25 years ago with an introduction to reiki. Balancing a corporate career, she went on to study homeopathy and deepen her understanding of energy work. Two years ago, Susan experienced a mental health crisis, which led her to leave her corporate job of over 20 years despite the challenging economic times.

She enrolled on a sound healing course, setting her on a new path. She began with a small sound bath and soon expanded to train in Biofield Tuning with renowned teacher Eileen McKusick. This practice, which uses tuning forks to harmonize the body’s energy, has brought remarkable results, with clients describing profound improvements such as better sleep, reduced pain, and a renewed sense of well-being.

She is based at The Hideaway on Blackburn Road in Egerton.
