Thursday, November 28, 2024 Alstom, a leader in smart and sustainable mobility, marked a major milestone with the 100th anniversary of its Florence site, recognizing its vital role in revolutionizing railway signalling across Italy. The event brought together prominent figures, including Eugenio Giani, President of the Tuscany Region, Andrea Giorgio, Florence’s Councillor for Mobility, Ecological Transition, and Urban Security, as well as Stefano Franchi, President of Federmeccanica, and Stefano Bettini, Vice-President of Federmeccanica. This centenary celebration not only highlighted the remarkable history of the Florence facility but also underscored its contributions to advancing rail technology, making it a cornerstone in Italy’s transportation infrastructure and a testament to Alstom’s continued innovation in the sector.

In response to the expanding growth of its Digital, Infrastructure, and Signalling sectors, Alstom welcomed over 100 new employees in 2024. Additionally, the company is actively recruiting, with around 60 job openings available across various fields, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrialisation, Production, and Project Management. “This anniversary marks a significant milestone and reflects a deep connection with the local community, which continues to be strengthened thanks to the daily dedication of the over 210 employees working here and our ongoing pursuit of cutting-edge solutions,” said Michele Viale, Managing Director of Alstom.
