As strong winds hit the region, a fallen tree across a busy road saw a community come together. At around 12.30pm today traffic ground to a standstill on the B1062 Bungay Road, which connects Beccles and Bungay, as the large fallen tree outside Roos Hall in Beccles blocked the road in both directions.
It saw two buses and more than 20 cars held up on their routes. However, it was cleared quickly as more than 15 members of the public helped cut and move the tree. James McGregor, who lives nearby, said: "It came down in the middle of the road but luckily there were no cars coming.
"It was a bit chaotic but the locals came together and got the road open within half an hour."
