Ishaan Khatter has been making a mark with his fine performances and thoughtful project choices. He was last seen in the American mystery series The Perfect Couple , alongside Nicole Kidman and Meghann Fahy, with his portrayal of Shooter Dival receiving widespread praise. While Ishaan has carved his own path in the industry, he is often referred to as Shahid Kapoor’s brother.

In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Ishaan expressed that having an elder brother like Shahid is a blessing, and he learns a lot from him. However, he made it clear that his journey is his own, and he is not looking to ride on someone else’s success. Ishaan Khatter was asked how he feels when people refer to him as Shahid Kapoor’s brother.

The Pippa actor shared, “I was 21, on the stage of my first film’s trailer launch when I was asked about this. Someone had asked me if there was competition back home? Perhaps, this is the public perception. But to me, I see it as a blessing that I have an elder brother that I share a common passion with, which is cinema.

I can learn from him, we share notes. And the thing is, I know that I’m Shahid’s younger brother. In life also, I came 15 years after him.

So, I’ll always be the younger brother. I’m never going to fight that, but my journey is my journey.” He further added that his confidence comes from knowing who he is.

“I am not a shadow of anyone. I’m not trying to imitate anybody. I’m not trying to ride on someone else’s success.
