An Irish tourist was allegedly sexually assaulted and had an €8,000 Rolex watch stolen from her while on holiday in Italy. The woman, 26, was returning from a night out in Milano Marittima in Northern Italy on Wednesday, August 21 when the incident occurred. It is alleged that the woman was followed by an 18-year-old man, who then sexually assaulted her before stealing her watch.

The man was arrested following the incident, where he denied sexually assaulting her but admitted to stealing the watch — saying that he’s addicted to the luxury brand. The man, who has no previous convictions and reportedly comes from a well-off family, told police that he’s ‘addicted to Rolex’ and has a Rolex tattooed on his wrist, according to the Irish Mirror . The woman was hospitalised for several days following the incident, with the arrest coming shortly after her friends raised the alarm.

The man spent the day in custody before being released on bail following a court hearing on Thursday (August 22), and is due back in court in October..
