AN IRISH tourist was allegedly sexually assaulted and had her €8,000 Rolex watch stolen while holidaying in Italy. The young woman, 26, was returning from a night out in Milano Marittima, Italy , on Wednesday, August 21, when the incident occurred. According to Ravenna Today , the Irish woman was leaving a nightclub when she was followed by a stranger who sexually assaulted her before stealing her Rolex watch and fleeing the scene.

The accused, 18, admitted to stealing the watch but denied sexually assaulting the woman. The man reportedly claimed he stole the Rolex because he has an addiction to the luxury brand. He told cops after being arrested: “I’m addicted to Rolex” According to the Irish Mirror , the man has a tattoo of a Rolex on his wrist.

It's reported the teen claimed he is "a Rolex addict" before informing police of where he had buried the watch. The young man has no previous convictions and is reported to come from a well-off family in northern Italy. The young woman was hospitalized after the incident and spent several days in hospital.

Her friends raised the alarm with police on patrol who quickly found a teenager who had been with the suspect before the attack. This reportedly led them to the accused who was detained and identified by the victim. He spent the day in custody before being released on bail after a court hearing on Thursday.

He is due back in court in October and is preparing to offer his victim compensation for her ordeal. For the latest n.
