The Collector General registered a commercial judgment for €9,940 against AS Goss Ireland Media Ltd, the company behind the Goss.ie website, on September 13. The website and related social media platforms are run by chief executive and company owner Alexandra Ryan, a former reporter with the Irish Daily Mail who won the 2012 Showbiz Journalist of the Year prize at the national newspaper awards.

When contacted this week, Lisa McKenna, a solicitor representing Ms Ryan and AS Goss Ireland Media Ltd, said: “Unfortunately, due to an administrative error, the company was not aware that this bill was owing to Revenue. Once the company became aware of the judgment, the sum was paid immediately.” Ms McKenna provided a letter from Ivor Fitzpatrick solicitors on behalf of Revenue, dated September 27, showing the balance of the debt was now zero.

This followed a phone call on September 17 and the payment of the balance of €9,439.59. The Ivor Fitzpatrick letter said: “Once necessary documents processed (sic) and returned to our office, we will proceed with satisfaction of judgment.
