Actress Akansha Ranjan Kapoor celebrates International Dog Day with her pet dog Mija today. Though Mija is technically Kapoor's second pet, the actress considers her her firstborn. The Monica O My Darling actress says, "As cliché as it sounds, she is my firstborn.

The first pet I had was when I was too young. I could not understand the responsibility of having a baby to care for." Being a dog mom has changed Kapoor, as she mentions, "Dogs teach you selfless and unconditional love.

Its truly beautiful to find someone who wants nothing but your company." While talking about finding Mija, Kapoor recalls, "I work with two to three NGOs, who save and shelter strays. It had been a couple of years since our first doggie, Bustie passed.

My sister (actress Anushka Ranjan) was ready to have another doggie. However, my only condition was that we adopt one. And it had to be a girl.

I wanted to eradicate the stigma people have about female dogs. By then I helped so many doggies get homes, so I wanted to give one myself as well. So its actually been a very wholesome and fulfilling experience for the entire family.

" Coming on the work front, Kapoor would soon make her Telugu debut with Maya One. Earlier while talking to us in an interview, she spoke about losing out on Kabir Singh . Akansha’s first audition was for L ekar Hum Deewana Dil which marked the debut of Armaan Jain.

While Akansha did not bag the movie, she continued auditioning. Ask her if there are any projects that she felt .
