VIRGIN Media star Katja Mia has opened up about an "added hurdle" in her journey to "long-lasting changes" with her health. The star told how "losing weight is hard as f***" but that having an autoimmune disorder has made it tougher. But the popular presenter said she's "enjoying the process of breaking toxic food habits".

Losing weight is hard as f***." She explained: "Let’s be honest, I’ve never had a healthy relationship with food which is why my weight has yo-yo’ed my whole life." The 28-year-old revealed she suffers with hypothyroidism, which is an underactive thyroid gland that can affect your metabolism.

She said having to take medication daily has been part of what made her want to help herself, "the right way". Katja explained that the process of regulating diet and exercise into her life will take a while. She added: "It took me having an autoimmune disorder (which is quite common I hear) and having to take medication everyday to finally get my act together and want to help myself.
