Skelwith Fold, in the Lake District, has opened two-person safari tents, with each one having its own private hot tub on the furnished balcony. The tents are at one of the highest and most remote locations within the park’s 130-acre grounds. They offer views of the surrounding countryside and have a number of 'luxury' features.

Each tent has a queen-size bedroom with hotel quality linen, a 'spacious' bathroom with a power shower, and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. Henry Wild, whose park this year beat more than 100 contenders to become Cumbria Tourism's park of the year, said he is aiming to create the 'ultimate romantic getaway'.

He said: "These are tents by name and are indeed made from canvas and timber – but the vibe is much closer to a luxury honeymoon-style suite overlooking the glorious Langdales. "And the views don't disappear in the evenings because, on clear nights, Cumbria's famous dark skies will reveal a heavenly galaxy of stars rarely glimpsed elsewhere in the UK. Couples will be able to stay connected with the outside world through wi-fi available in the safari tents, and plug sockets and charging.
