David and Victoria Coren Mitchell, the ultimate power duo, maybe a force to reckon with, but the Peep Show comedian has revealed that it hasn't always been plain sailing in their relationship. The celebrity couple's romance sparked back in 2007, yet it took until 2010 for their love story to kickstart. The lovebirds tied the knot in a North London ceremony in November 2012 and then welcomed their daughter, in May 2015, before having their second child in October 2023.

While David's bumbling, nerdy Peep Show character Mark had absolutely no luck when it came to the ladies, the same can't be said for the actor, 50, who fell head over heels for Victoria at first sight. However, their romance didn't escape a couple of obstacles or two. The couple were first introduced to each other by fellow comedian David Baddiel, who played matchmaker when they both attended the same film premiere in 2007.

Victoria admitted: "He specifically said to me, 'There’s David Mitchell over there, I think you should probably marry him, I’ll get the ball rolling by introducing you.'" Victoria added: "I thought that was ridiculous but, a couple of hours later, I thought I would probably marry him." David wrote in his 2012 autobiography, Back Story: "I was pretty sure she was flirting, but was unwilling to believe my instincts as that seemed too good to be true.

" The pair got along like a house on fire, but they didn't actually go on their first date until 2010, as Victoria explained her father had jus.
