Ian 'H' Watkins of Steps fame is all set to become a regular on our television screens as he signs up for the latest series of Celebrity MasterChef . The 48-year-old star first found fame with the pop group Steps in the late 90s, clocking up an impressive lineup of hits from 1997 to 2001, including a pair of UK number-one singles and two albums that topped the charts. Following the disbandment of Steps in 2001, H carried on with his music career, teaming up with bandmate Claire Richards to release three singles and an album.

They reignited Steps' spark with a reunion in 2011, accompanied by a documentary, and have kept fans on their toes with sell-out tours ever since. Off the stage, H's life has been as colourful and controversial as you'd expect from a pop star. As MasterChef kicked off on Thursday , we take a sneak peek into some of the more sensational chapters from H's life story.

H's personal life hit a rocky patch in 2017 when he split from his partner of a decade, Craig Ryder, barely a year after the duo became parents to twin boys Macsen and Cybi through surrogacy in March 2016, reports the Liverpool Echo . Amidst the couple's strife, H faced accusations from his ex-partner, who labelled him a "bully" in their acrimonious legal dispute over ownership of a Range Rover. In a dramatic turn early in 2019, H commenced legal action against the actor about the vehicle, claiming he had lent him £15,000 to buy it.
