Donal Skehan took to Instagram on Thursday to bring his fans inside his family’s summer holiday to Sweden as they made the most of the final week of summer. The celebrity chef and his wife Sofie, who he tied the knot to in a beautiful ceremony in Lisnavagh House in 2015, share two children together — brothers Noah and Oliver. After moving back to Ireland during the pandemic after spending several years in America, the Skehans bought their first house last year after 17 years of renting.

With Noah and Oliver’s return to school on the horizon, the family jetted off to Sofie’s native city of Gothenburg, located along Sweden’s west coast, for a fun-filled holiday . Making every moment of their time together count, the family spent their days swimming in lakes, running through forests and making sure they got to eat some of the world-famous Swedish meatballs. Donal captioned his post : ‘Last of the Swedish summer! Boys have been island hopping, swimming in the lakes, eating prawns & crayfish, picking chanterelles and blueberries in the forest and eating their weight in meatballs ensuring their Swedish heritage is intact for at least another year! A post shared by Donal (@donalskehan) ‘They’ve been loving spending time with their Swedish grandparents cousins and Irish granny and grandad came for a visit too! ‘Hope you’re soaking up the last of the summer- sending loads of love from the West Coast of Sweden!’ The comments section of the post saw Donal’s frien.
