DERRY Girls star Kathy Kiera Clarke took a trip around Northern Ireland and said that she's "truly blessed". The actress, who's best known for playing Sarah McCool in the hit TV show, currently lives in England and recently returned home to Belfast to reconnect with her roots. Kathy started her Northern Ireland trip in the capital and stayed at the stunning five star hotel, Grand Central Hotel Belfast.

While she was there, Kathy made sure to check out the local attractions including the Thompson Dry Dock and the Titanic Distillery. The 51-year-old got a Black Cab tour around the city before going on the Seedhead Street Art walking tour. From Antrim, Kathy travelled to Down where and experienced luxurious glamping at Enniskeen Estate and Forest Spa in Newcastle.

The Head Over Heels star gushed: "At Enniskeen you really get a sense of this fairytale world, there really is nowhere else like it. "Sitting by the fire with that extraordinary view in the distance is just good for the soul." While in Down, Kathy went to the Game of Thrones Studio Tour in Banbridge.

Kathy made sure to stop off in Derry and got to visit Seamus Heaney HomePlace in Bellaghy. She took home a personal copy of the legendary poet's books and said it gave her "shivers" to see his masterpieces. The Irish star also travelled right to the stop of the country where she stayed at Bushmills Inn and took in the breathtaking views at the Magheracross Viewpoint outside Portrush.

Speaking about her wonderful staycation.
